A noninvasive, painless hearing test that assesses a person's ability to hear different sounds, pitches, or frequencies is known as an audiometry evaluation. Patients with tumours in or near the ear may be subjected to audiometry testing to determine if a hearing loss has occurred and to monitor their hearing before and after surgery. It is also used to determine whether one's hearing would benefit from hearing aids or surgery. The outer, middle, and inner ear are the three sections of our ears. Sensorineural (nerve or cochlea damage) or conductive hearing loss can be determined using audiometry tests (damage to the eardrum or the tiny ossicle bones). During an audiometry evaluation, a variety of tests may be performed.
